Continuing master studies, I did a pencil drawing next. I feel I was a lot more successful here; I have a lot more control over the "mark" going where I want it to instead of all over the page.

I can seem to make very good shapes and outlines from reference if I'm willing to sink a gawd-awful lot of time into it. When I try shading is when I really botch up though. This gives me ideas of exploring alternative shading ideas.
