Okay, time for a landscape. Actually, it's time to sit down with my instructor and pick his brain, "Since we need to do master studies, could you point me to some masters who did drawings of..." Finding things I'm interested in from the masses of the art library is harder than you might think. A good landscape is near the top of my list though.

What did I pick up here? Well, I'm still deciding. Landscape sketches I've made over the last fifteen years of my life have always looked too flat and contrived and not at all realistic. This one I like. I'm still trying to decide what the secret is.

Other than that, again shading here is done with basic line value and simply adding short crosshatch-like marks where needed. I really like the fact that everything in the drawing is horizontal or angled, except the reflections and shadows on the water; those are vertical lines. This really makes them look different.
